Ketti - Ahhh, I remember being that age!

Amy Lockheart - Oh, look at your sweetie! Headed off to camp! She looks so very excited. Did you have a tough time leaving her? I love the one of them lined up in their bunk. She is going to treasure these when she’s older. Such special memories! xoxo

Gretchen - Oh l miss chatting with you!!!! So MUSH! :) Was it hard to leave? Camp looks so wonderful, what a dreamy place.

Megan C. - Love these, Sara! The girls will surely enjoy seeing these again someday. Hope they’re having a great time at camp!

shannon harrison - well she looked pretty happy about camp when you dropped her off! Perfect- thats how she’ll remember it :)

sarategs - I want to go back in time. ;(

sarategs - Yes. It is one day for the memory books for sure!

sarategs - We will catch up soon. Hope you are loving hard on those boys!

sarategs - Yes, super duper tough! I don’t think it gets easier as they get older, either. Special special memories, indeed!

Lazy Susan | July | Confetti Frozen Surprise Pops

Confetti Ice Cream Pops

  • 8 piece(s) (1 1/2-inch) soft-centered candy bars, (like Milky Way or Snickers)  I used mini 3Musketeers.
  • 1 pint(s) vanilla custard-style ice cream, slightly softened
  • 3/4 cup(s) assorted-color candy confetti or sprinkles

  1. Insert a wooden Popsicle stick into one end of each candy bar and set aside. Place 1 tablespoon of ice cream in the bottom of a 3-ounce paper cup. Place candy in center of the cup, surround with 3 tablespoons ice cream, and smooth over the top.
  2. Transfer cup to a baking sheet, repeat with remaining cups, and freeze until solid. Pour confetti or sprinkles into a shallow bowl and set aside. Peel the cup from each ice cream pop and roll in the decorations to cover completely. Store in freezer for up to 3 days.
adapted from this recipe at Country Living.
In order to reduce the fat and sugar content, substitute the ice cream for frozen low-fat yogurt.

Lazy Susan | June | Serbian Salad

    • 2 tomatoes, diced.  (beefsteak, organic, on the vine, cherry or santas)
    • 1/2 green pepper, seeds removed and diced
    • 1/2 sweet Vadalia onion, diced
    • 1 -2 ounce feta or goat cheese, crumbled

  1. This is a layered salad.  Tomatoes diced on plate as bottom layer.  Sprinkle salt generously on the tomatoes.  Wait 20 minutes to let the tomato and salt make a juice.  The salt, tomato juice and cheese is the dressing.
  2. Layer onion and then green pepper.
  3. Crumble or grate feta or goat cheese to cover the top.
  4. This is a simple summer salad that I serve for family or at large parties.  It is a popular dish in our house.
