Chesterfield Photographer | Abbott and Costello Who’s On First | Fifty Two on Friday | Funny

Funny. Ain’t it funny? You’re so funny. What is funny? You are funny? No, you are. What’s so funny? Me. Too Funny. Our theme this week: funny. No One is funnier than the comic’s Abbott and Costello and their signature routine “Who’s On First?”

Who’s On First?

Lou Costello: Look, if I throw the ball to first base, somebody’s gotta get it. Now who has it?

Bud Abbott: Naturally.

Lou Costello: Who?

Bud Abbott: Naturally.

Lou Costello: Naturally?

Bud Abbott: Naturally.

Lou Costello: So I pick up the ball and I throw it to Naturally.

Bud Abbott: No you don’t, you throw the ball to Who.

Lou Costello: Naturally.

Bud Abbott: That’s different.

Lou Costello: That’s what I said.

Bud Abbott: You’re not saying it…

Lou Costello: I throw the ball to Naturally.

Bud Abbott: You throw it to Who.

Lou Costello: Naturally.

Bud Abbott: That’s it.

Lou Costello: That’s what I said!

Bud Abbott: You ask me.

Lou Costello: I throw the ball to who?

Bud Abbott: Naturally.

Lou Costello: Now you ask me.

Bud Abbott: You throw the ball to Who?

Lou Costello: Naturally.

Bud Abbott: That’s it.

Lou Costello: Same as you! Same as YOU! I throw the ball to who. Whoever it is drops the ball and the guy runs to second. Who picks up the ball and throws it to What. What throws it to I Don’t Know. I Don’t Know throws it back to Tomorrow, Triple play. Another guy gets up and hits a long fly ball to Because. Why? I don’t know! He’s on third and I don’t give a darn!

Bud Abbott: What?

Lou Costello: I said I don’t give a darn!

Bud Abbott: Oh, that’s our shortstop.

Please click through our little circle of funny. One of my closest and dear friends, Gretchen Davis is a lifestyle photographer out of Portland Oregon is sure to bust a gut.

This is my nephew, Drew. He is such a cool kid. I adore him. He is also comical. I adore capturing him. He has the most amazing laugh and has since he was a baby. It is all guttural and contagious. He laughs with a trill, which just makes you laugh harder because you think it will never stop. His laugh is sweet and low and consistent. I love to spend time with my nieces and nephew just one-on-one. These days that is a luxury since I have a few of them. One of the most amazing things is just to able to sit and talk and make them laugh when you say something funny.

St Louis Photographer | Bright Color | Fifty Two on Friday Photo

We took off in the car today in search of the bright color theme for this week and my 52 week project. Me, the two little people, a camera and a dashboard reading of 101 degrees – a scorcher. We ended up at Choteau and the Mighty Mississippi. The great St Louis Wall of Graffiti. The wall was built as a flood wall and it runs about a mile long and about twenty five feet tall. It is jaw-dropping and I am still baffled by how an artist can scale their artwork so beautifully on such a huge wall. And, their art is up for display during their spray painting creation for everyone to see and criticize. Up until a few years ago, there used to be artists who came from all over the world to compete with their art on the wall.

Now please click through to Gretchen Davis, one of my dear friends, a modern, lifestyle portrait photographer out of Portland, Oregon.

St Louis Family Photographer| Summer Photo | Fifty Two on Friday

Summer is the theme this week for our Fifty-Two week project.

We took the cousins all out for their very first sailing lesson this week.  We had a blast.  The perfect evening.  The sailing instructor gave a quick lesson on the beach and then put three 7 year olds and a 5 year old in their own Opti boats and tugged them across the lake out to some “softer wind”.  They had never been sailing before this lesson.  The sailing instructor set up a couple buoys and our little gals and guys raced each other, it was quite remarkable having just learned the basics, nearly 20 minutes before being put in a sailboat for the first time.  Sailing is the epitome of summer up here.   I hope our kids will fall in love with it as much as we did at their age.
