What a great way to start off some of my valentine’s mini-sessions. This little cutie has never had a lollipop……until today. The minute I unwrapped said lolli, her big baby brown eyes almost popped out of her head. She really could barely contain herself. Mom had to encourage her that it was okay to taste it. Hmmmm hmmmm hmmm. And after all of that, it was lunch time. She happily gave mom the lollipop in exchange for fish sticks, broccoli and pears. But got really upset that the lolli wasn’t in plain site. Can I take her home?

My littlest one is 3 yrs old. She is a very lively one, a spark plug if you will……she loves the food network and lately she chooses to watch Giada de Laurentiis on “Everyday Italian” over “Max and Ruby” or even “Strawberry Shortcake”. This morning she chose a green summer dress to wear around the house (it is -2 degrees F this morning) and wanted eggs for breakfast. It is now abundantly clear that she loves the making of the eggs, and not, the eating of the eggs. Eggs made, eggs sit.
I would not like them
here or there.
I would not like them
anywhere.
I do not like
green eggs and ham.
I do not like them,

I have three years of life experience and Chooo Chooo Pancakes are the staple each weekend. Rice Crispies make great smoke for the steam engines. First poor the wheels, then the top, then the body, then the steam stacks. All drips “coal” must go into the coal tender car. In the morning I say, “Daddy it’s morning light. Time to make Chooo Chooo Pancakes. Right now.

Some friends of mine are challenging me to an “image-off”. Every week for the next 52 weeks, there will be a post on my blog that is something fun, free and creative. We are all home from school and work today. It is 3 degrees right now, mid-day and the temperature is supposed to drop to a wind-chill of -17 below zero. While I would LOVE to take some pictures of the amazing snow and flakes, being a gal who hales from the deep woods of Wisconsin, BUT, -17 is just too damn cold. I am trying to occupy two little girls with some fun indoor activity and crayons are abundant and omnipresent in this house. Crayons ROCK! I have seen this captured one other time by a photographer, I was mesmerized by it.

I feel for you. It’s not 17 below here, but it’s pretty dam cold and I’m trapped inside with a 5, 3 and 3 mos old. Love shots like this. You nailed it.

Holy cow, FABULOUS DoF. Love it.
I do not envy you with those temps, I feel trapped here, and it’s 30s out. (We still go out, but no walks/playing. Always shopping, lol.) -
Love the dof!

Love the crayons! I also hear you on the coldness! Way up here in Canada it is -47 celcius with the windchill but my kids still had to go to school!
-
Love this shot!! The cold is awful. My hands froze after 2 minutes outside trying to get my shot today. Blech! Bring on spring!
